Schooling in Pandurang Vidyalaya, Goregaon East, and Graduation in Commerce from S.N.D.T., Malad, Mumbai.

Hobbies

Cooking, Crochet / Fabric Handicraft (Vinkaam), Hand Embroidary (Bharatkaam). She was an active member of Mangala Gaur Dance Group of Mrs. Mangala Bave (Mother of Marathi Film Star Sunil Barve)


Career

She was Self-employed as an Insurance and Investment Consultant- Attached with LIC, GIC, HDFC, UTI, Mutual Funds. She Contested Mumbai Municipal Corporation’s Election from Bharatiya Janata Party in February 2012 from Ward No. 52 (Jawahar Nagar, Ram Mandir, Motilal Nagar, Siddharth Nagar). Got around 8000 votes but lost with 1500 votes. The Banner displayed after losing the election to thank who voted, incorporated the lines which precisely describes the Principle of her life.

Family

Married to Shri. Prashant Salunke on 5th May 1993.
Two Children- Ms. Anju (Last year student of Architecture), and Nandan (working as a Film Editor)

Personality

Arti was a calm but workaholic and helpful person. In our family and extended family, she was the most liked person. She had handled the home front responsibilities, because of which I could give time to Bharatiya Janata Party and other Social Activities. She was with me in my best and worst days in the same manner, and supported everyone in bad times.

Last Sickness

During 2012, she could not bear the overburden of Election Campaign and Mangalgaur Dance Programs, and fell ill due to low hemoglobin. Later she was diagnosed with Kidney Problem with gradually increasing Creatinine. In September 2012, doctors had left all the hopes of her survival, but she had intense urge to survive. From February 2015, she was hospitalized and on dialysis. Since then, every minute since lived was a bonus for her. At last she succumbed to a Cardiac Attack early morning on 20th July 2017, and passed away while on the way to KEM Hospital.
